Raptors beat Detroit and will finish 3rd in the east

After beating the knicks, they can now rest some of their starters, especially Chris Bosh who deserves to relax and watch his teammates cruise to a victory for the last two games. The Raptors secured the 3rd seed, the highest seeding they ever ranked, and comes with a home court advantage against Washington Wizards, New Jersey Nets or the Orland Magic in the first round. Personally, it would be fun to watch them face Vince Carter, the man who put them on the map and then departed when things got tough.

Things are not all settled yet. The raptors have two games remaining and are tied for their best record ever. They can actually beat that record by winning tomorrow against Detroit and on Wednesday against the 76sers who apparently blew out the Pistons couple of nights ago. They may finish with 49 wins when the fat lady sings.

So what does all this mean for us, the fans.
It will be exciting thing to watch the team play in the Playoffs as we are hungery to see competetive games against the elite teams in the NBA. The Raptors can make noise this playoff season and have a good chance to advance to the second round, perhaps sweeping the Wizards or taking the Nets in six. Watching to see what VC does, if the Raptors play the Nets, will be interesting as he left Toronto a few years back thinking it will never rain again here. Perhaps, it snowed when he was here, and unfortunately - wait! that is another story- it wasnt wins.

Settle up and relax people and look forward to the simi final playoffs games.

i think the Raptors would rather face the Wizards, as they are missing Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler and would be easier to beat in the first round of the playoffs.

The Toronto Raptors are chasing the Bulls for Second in the East

Ladies and Gentlemen, the battle is on. The Toronto raptors have qualified for the NBA PlayOffs and are now chasing the bulls for the second playoff spot so they can play against the lowly (due to injuries) Washington Wizards. Currently the raptors are 1 game back of the bulls with 4 games remaining for both teams. If the raptors catch the bulls, they may end up playing Vince Carter and the New Jersey nets.

In my opinion, it is better for them to stay seeded 3rd overal in the east to give themselves a chance to play the Wizards instead of positioning themselves for the Nets, considering the Nets have more man power and have 3 top 10 Stars of the NBA; Carter, Kid and Richard Jefferson. However, it is not as easy as just staying put and letting some games go to find the chance to play wizs. The Nets are within 1 game of now over taking the Washington Wizards for the sixth in the east so with few more wins, the nets can actually finish sixth in the east where the Wizards drop to seventh. In that case, the raps will have to catch the bulls to face the wizards.

Either way, it will be a fun season for the Toronto Raptors fans all over the world. With Andrea Bargnani back in the line up, the three will rain again and Chris Bos and TJ ford will have to contribute to helping the raptors make noise, as their coach Sam Mitchell said.

The Toronto Raptors are on a roll

Toronto Raptors make it to the playoffs for the first time in five years. The last time they made to the playoffs was back 2001-02 season when Vince Carter was the man in charge. Now it is Chris Bosh who was a 19 year old starting out back then when they last made it to the playoffs. It is being a long raod for the raps and are finally back to the NBA elite after winning 43 games and counting. They're on their way to tying their most wins in one season at 47 with 6 games remaining. Perhaps they will beat that record and I will come back here and update it again. Currently, they are fighting for a home court in the first round trying to fend of the resugning Miami Heat with Shaquile Oneal and D-wade who just came back from a shoulder injury.

Why are they so good this season, compared a season ago when they mastered just 27 wins for the fifth worse record? Good question.

There are several key factors that are contributing to their success. First, It istarts with Bryan Colengelo, the teams new General Manager. Bryan has brought together and signed nine new players, including the Garbojosa, Parker, Juan Dixon,Rasho Nesterovic. These guys contributed to teams winning ways by bringing in winning attitudes.


Consider this, the first overall draft pick, Andrea Bergnani, has won several Italian cups with his previous team. Anthony Parker is the EuroLeage player of the year, and lead his previous Macabi team to 4 straight tittels.




I must say after beating the Chicago bulls and running over the Timberwolves, they're ready to make noise in the Playoffs this year and you might be surprised to see them seeded seconds and the end of this season.

This team will definetely more fun watch to watch than many in the East. Congratulations Toronto Raptors.!!!!
